As part of the deal, Microsoft paid Sun $1. 95 billion. That settled all outstanding litigation between the companies and started a dialogue and technology exchange as part of a 10-year collaboration agreement.

The service has primarily been launched in France, Germany, Ireland, Austria and Belgium. However, it will also be available in Spain from February 2005 and rolling out through out Europe over 2005. Each country will have a specific dial-in number which will allow them to take advantage of the cheap call rates when arranging and participating in European conference calls.
