This system could be hosted by Google but be open to who you want. In other words, you could openly collaborate with clients, or co workers regardless of what system you are using – you could connect and read email with your PDA, schedule appointments with your laptop and even have a Google Talk VOIP conversation with your cell phone. The possibilities are endless.

The accord between Microsoft and Sun did change the dynamics between the companies. Engineers of both companies have regular meetings, as do senior executives, including Microsoft Chief Software Architect Bill Gates and Sun CTO Greg Papadopoulos, who have conference calls every two weeks, according to Sun.
Collaboration between Sun and Microsoft on several proposed Web services standards may eventually help interoperability.
